We know that childcare is a significant investment. We want to make it as easy as possible to understand what Smithfield costs, what that covers, and what government support you might be entitled to.

Every place includes freshly cooked meals, all activities, and your child's Learning Journey — no hidden extras.

Because sessions, days, and funded hours vary from family to family, we'll talk you through our current rates and exactly what's included — no obligation.

Fees are annualised, so your monthly bill stays consistent throughout the year — holidays included.
What your fees cover.
Your day rate is genuinely all-inclusive. Here's everything that comes as standard — no packed lunches, no surprise charges.
Freshly cooked meals
Breakfast, mid-morning snack, a two-course lunch, afternoon snack and tea — all cooked on-site by our own chef.
All activities & resources
Arts, crafts, in-house events and trips — with no additional charges to worry about.
Nappies & wipes
Provided for babies and younger children, so there's one less thing to pack each morning.
Learning Journey on Famly
Photos, updates and milestones from your child's day, shared straight to the Famly app.
Development reviews
Regular reviews of your child's progress, five times a year, so you're always in the loop.

Government childcare funding.
Several government schemes can significantly reduce the cost of nursery for eligible families. Here's what's currently available — and we're always happy to help you work out what applies to you.

Universal entitlement · 3–4 yrs
All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 free hours a week (570 hours a year), regardless of income or employment. Starts the term after your child's third birthday.

Extended entitlement · 3–4 yrs
Working families earning at least the National Living Wage may get an extra 15 hours — 30 free hours in total. Apply through the GOV.UK childcare service for an eligibility code.

Eligible 2-year-olds · 2 yrs
Families on certain benefits, or with a child who has an SEN statement or is looked after by the local authority, may get 15 free hours for their 2-year-old.

Expanded working-family hours
Eligible working parents can now access funded hours from 9 months old — 15 hours, expanding to 30. Eligibility is based on employment and income thresholds.

£8 → £10
Tax-Free Childcare
For every £8 you pay into a Tax-Free Childcare account, the government adds £2 — up to £500 per child each quarter (£2,000 a year), or £4,000 for a disabled child.

How funding works at Smithfield.
Funded hours are stretched across 51 weeks of the year — around 11.18 hours a week for 15-hour funding, or 22.35 hours for 30-hour funding — so your monthly costs stay consistent, including through the holidays.
Government funding covers childcare hours only. A small monthly contribution covers items that aren't funded — including those freshly prepared meals cooked on-site by our chef.
Funding depends on a valid eligibility code from the Council. Please check yours is current — we're unable to offer funded rates if entitlement can't be verified.
