Parents of Smithfield House
Paediatric First Aid
In line with The Statutory Framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Section 3 Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements 3.25, all our staff here at Smithfield House must hold an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate and refresh this knowledge as standard and in line with Ofsted guidance. This requirement applies to all Ofsted registered nurseries.
We extend an invitation to our parents/carers and offer them the opportunity to take part in this training if they so desire. This also provides an occasion for our parents to meet each other and share conversation and parenting tips.
Smithfield House Children’s Nursery have worked in partnerships with Train Aid to meet our training needs in this area. The beauty of our partnership means that we can bring the course to the nursery, avoiding sourcing a venue and un-necessary travel. Our training provider will accept groups of up to 12 learners and if we can fill all spaces, this allows us to offer the course at a competitive rate.
We always receive excellent feedback from our parents/carers. They tell us:
‘I feel more equipped to cope with an emergency involving my child and feel that I would be able to remain calm and in control until medical help arrives.’
‘Really enjoyed the course. I would recommend this for any parent/carer who has small children. I would even be confident to help in a situation within my place of work!’
This training is Ofsted recognised and consists of two parts. The first part is an on-line course which must be completed prior to the face-to-face practical training day with the training professional.
